Off-grid messaging
Exchange text and telemetry across participating nodes without requiring a traditional cellular connection.
A regional decentralized mesh communications network built around Meshtastic and long-range, low-power radio links. This page serves as the dedicated public home for network information and configuration references, with detailed infrastructure information available separately.
Upper Meshigan is intended to provide a communications layer that does not depend on cellular service or a conventional internet connection between participating nodes. Meshtastic devices communicate directly over LoRa radio and can relay messages through other nodes within range.
Exchange text and telemetry across participating nodes without requiring a traditional cellular connection.
Designed around Upper Michigan and Northeast Wisconsin, with coverage expanding as additional nodes are deployed.
No single relay point has to carry the entire network. Nodes can extend the mesh by relaying traffic.
These are the configuration values represented on the current NEWCOMMNET site. Individual hardware and firmware capabilities can vary.
The regional page can use this area for the recommended channel/profile information as the network is developed.
