Midland MXT400, 40 Watt Micro Mobile
We recommend the Midland MXT400, 40 Watt Micro Mobile for a GMRS Mid to Long range communication station. With this mobile unit producing 40 Watts transmitter power output it would work great for long distance communications. This unit would make an excellent long range high power base or mobile station to keep communication to those out scouting or on a Search and Rescue mission. This unit still allows for higher (ERP) “effective radiated power” with the use of a gain antenna. The MXT400 wouldn’t be suitable for communication on the 462 MHz interstitial channels which are restricted to a maximum ERP of 5 watts.
